When I was pregnant with Caleb I decided I wasn’t going to worry too much about my weight. I figured that my midwife would tell me if I was gaining too much weight and, if she didn’t say anything, I wouldn’t limit myself on food. I’m sure you can guess that doing that was an extremely bad idea. When all was said and done and Caleb was delivered and all the internal fluid and water weight were gone I ended up being 35 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight. 35 pounds! That means I gained a lot more than 35 pounds!
This time around I decided it was a much better idea to be intentional about the weight I’m gaining. Obviously it’s important to gain weight while you’re growing a little one but I decided I don’t have to let it get out of hand.
Between eating intentionally, giving up some of the treats I might want, and attempting to be a little more active (which is tough with the round ligament pain I’m dealing with…) I’ve only gained 15 pounds so far and I’m already 29 weeks along! Yippee!
Of course, there are only so many times I can give up sweet treats before I feel like I’m depriving myself. And depriving myself is the worst! Thankfully, VitaTops MuffinTops have come to the rescue!
