Ask Caleb what a firetruck says and he’ll immediately start screeching out a siren sound. It’s a little annoying but totally adorable so we ask him to do it quite often. Since we ask him so often, it might be our fault that our little dude adores firetrucks. When we found out that the children’s museum was having a touch a firetruck event we knew we had to take Caleb!
Of course, the day of the event it was horribly hot but we decided we needed to get out of the house and take our guys anyway. The joy that it would bring to Caleb to get to see his favorite trucks in person would be worth it. Besides, we don’t have air conditioning in the house anyway so what did we have to lose?
The event was so adorable! Kids could climb in and out of firetrucks, ambulances, police motorbikes, and so much more! The fire hose was running, being a sprinkler for all the hot, sweaty children. Free ice cream was being given out and there was an awesome obstacle course for kids to complete.
All that was going on and yet our little guy walked up one side of the sidewalk and down the other, briefly stopping at the trucks and motorbike to climb in. He didn’t even want to wear one of the plastic fireman hats they had on hand! Thank goodness it was being held at the children’s museum we have year long passes to because we were able to head inside and play – making it not a wasted trip!
Someday I’m going to show Caleb pictures of all these fun activities we took him to and make him apologize for how little he cared.
