My Nine Year Old Self is So Jealous
Those of you who follow me on Instagram know how I spent the weekend.
My little sister turned eleven last Wednesday and, to celebrate, my mom was taking her and my other little sister (who doesn’t turn eleven until April – They just THINK they’re twins) to the newly built AMERICAN GIRL DOLL STORE in Seattle. You better believe I was jealous. My nine (and ten, and eleven, and twelve…) year old self would have given anything to get to go to the American Girl Doll store!
Friday afternoon, as my mom and I were talking on the phone, we thought about how easy it would be for me to take a little day trip up to Seattle and go with them. Since they were coming down to Portland to visit us the next day, I would only have to get a one way ticket.
I quickly jumped on that idea and found a $20 Bolt Bus ticket.
Saturday morning I headed three hours north on the bus to surprise my sisters and fulfill a lifelong fantasy. Let me tell you, the store was awesome.
Dinah saw these dolls and decided they were her and Leah. I have to agree!
My sister-in-law and I were just wishing we were about fifteen years younger.
We even got reservations to eat at the American Girl Bistro! It was fun to see how they incorporated the girl’s dolls (Leah even brought my Josephina doll!) into the birthday celebration. They had their own chairs and dishes. It was totally adorable!
I am absolutely beyond happy I got to share this fun experience with my “baby” sisters!
