It's Party Time! {Plus a Grilled Asparagus Recipe}

DSC00982DSC00984DSC00986DSC00979DSC00993DSC00998DSC01001One of my favorite things to do on a summer evening is host BBQs.  I love getting people together at my house enjoying good food and each other’s company.  Ok, full disclosure time: I don’t know how to BBQ.  Nate does all the grilling at our house.  I may say I host the BBQ but really I do nothing other than make sure we have food and invite people over. The other night, Nate had to work a little late and texted me around six asking if we could have one of his coworkers over for a BBQ when they got off work.  Of course I happily said yes and got the sausages and buns ready to be grilled.  I ran to Safeway (have I told you all the we live next door to Safeway?  It’s awesome!) and picked up some asparagus, corn, and Reynolds tinfoil.  The guys may only want the meat but I have to keep them a little healthy with some veggies, right?  😉 Our small little gathering with just one friend really turned into a party when the couple who live next door (the hubby works with Nate as well) got coerced into coming over and partying with us.  Best of all, they brought cupcakes!  The best parties have cupcakes! It really was a wonderful spontaneous party full of belly laughs, good food, and great conversation.  It was a wonderful reminder to be spontaneous more often.  I don’t need to plan for weeks to throw a party – a one hour notice is more than enough time.  (Maybe don’t tell Nate I said that or he’ll stop planning things all together and be entirely spontaneous.  That might stress this girl out) Grilled Asparagus Ingredients: One Bundle of Asparagus
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 Teaspoon Steak Seasoning
Reynolds Tin Foil Directions: Wrap asparagus on three sides with the Reynolds tin foil, forming a little boat.  Pour lemon juice and olive oil over asparagus, coating the veggies as well as possible.  Sprinkle with steak seasoning.  Put packet onto already heated up grill (or campfire!) and cook, rotating asparagus every so often, until asparagus is soft but not mushy.  Parties on the Grill I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
