I’m a busy mom. I know a lot of you are busy moms too! As such, we don’t really have the time (or the energy) to spend a a million hours on getting ourselves prepared for the day. With a kiddo screaming for milk or tugging on your pant leg it’s hard to get dolled up BUT we truly still can!
One thing Nate has said that he’s always appreciated about me is how quickly I can get ready in the morning. No lie I can get out of bed and be out the door within 15 minutes looking ready to seize the day. (As long as seizing the day includes coffee already being made and breakfast being obtained outside the house) With five sisters fighting over bathroom time, I learned a five minute makeup routine that worked for me quickly!
Now that I have my own home and can commandeer the bathroom for as long as I’d like… Oh wait I’m a mom of a needy child… I’m thankful for my five minute face routine!
Why yes, that is a picture of me with no makeup on. I’m going to take a few seconds, let you embrace that face, and move on. This is why I wear makeup folks. #NoEyelashes #BagsUnderEyes #BlotchySkin BUT… Yes, I know, I’m still beautiful. 😉

Five Minute Makeup Routine for Moms
Moisturizer: Every good face starts out with moisturizer. If you’re going to be in the sun I would recommend a moisturizer with SPF but most of the time here in the Pacific Northwest that isn’t necessary. I use St Ives Timeless Skin
Under Eye Concealer: Notice the dark circles under my eyes? I’ve had those as long as I can remember. Stupid fair skin problems! I quickly use extra concealer under my eyes to keep those circles under wraps. I use Elf Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter
Liquid Foundation: Once the circles under my eyes are taken care of I cover my face in liquid foundation – focusing mainly, once again, under the eyes and on my chin and forehead. I use CoverGirl Clean Liquid Makeup
Powder: In order to finish getting my skin all one shade and to set the liquid makeup I brush a light powder all over my face. I use CoverGirl Translucent Face Powder
Blush: Once the liquid foundations are all set I quickly brush on my blush. My cheekbones and nose get a quick dusting of color. I use CoverGirl Cheekers Blush
Eye shadow: I choose a dark and a light eye shadow for my look. The dark shade goes on my lids up until the crease and then the light color goes on top of that all the way to the brow. I like to use a brush, not the little applicator that comes with the eye shadow, so that the colors blend together better. I use CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Shadow
Mascara: Two layers of mascara on my top lashes give my eyes the pop they need and don’t make it look as though I have no eyelashes like my real face does. I use Mary Kay Lash Intensity Mascara
Tinted Chapstick: Lastly I throw on some tinted chapstick. It’s easier to maintain throughout the day than lipstick or lip gloss so it’s best for this busy mom! I use Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Moisturizing Balm
Take it from me, you don’t need to spend hours on your face to look beautiful! All it takes is five minutes and you can be good to go!
