Do you struggle with unmanageable hair once the weather gets nicer? How about trying this wonderful hair headband hairstyle?

Growing up, I didn’t get in too many arguments with my mom but one thing we did butt heads about was my hair.  I HATED wearing it down and consistently had it pulled back into a tight pony tail (even for family pictures) while my mom preferred me to wear it down.  I don’t even know how many preteen tears were shed over my frustration when my mom occasionally asked that I wear my hair down.

You see, I was so insecure about my hair because it has a mind of its own!  Praise the Lord for the day I discovered the hair straightener and got my partly wavy, partly frizzy, partly stick straight, partly curly hair under submission.

When the weather warms up my hair anxiety comes back.  I want to fall back into my Jr. High mentality and pull it back and refuse to let anyone see how crazy it is – forever and ever, amen.  The sweat and humidity paired with the activity I want to be exerting outside overcomes my hair straightener every time.

Enter – the hair headband, my summertime saving grace.  Instead of worrying that my hair is all over the place, I tie it back in a cute hair headband and then let it do its thing.  The hair headband keeps it looking put together even when it’s all over the place.

Need to pull your unruly hair into place but don't want to throw it into a bun? Try the hair headband!

Step One

Pretty simple – have your hair down.  If you want to straighten it, do it now.  Otherwise just brush it out, part it, and be ready to go.

Step Two

Pull two chunks of hair from either side of your part.  The further back the pieces go then larger your hair headband will appear.  Ensure that the pieces are the same distance back from your forehead.  Pull the rest of the hair up out of the way and secure with a hair tie.

Step Three

Frame your hairline with the two chunks of hair.  Secure them with a small hair rubber band and the nape of your neck.

Step Four

Take the rest of your hair out of the hair tie and brush it out.  Do a little happy dance that it’s out of your face and is free to do its own thing.

Along with the hair headband, my newest found summertime saving grace is Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Hair Care!  Frizzies are caused by hair breakage and, for some strange reason, I deal with a lot of hair breakage. (Oh, maybe because I straighten it so much…)  Not only have I already seen an improvement in my breakage, I also LOVE the luscious formula with the essence of royal jelly, honey, and propolis.  Nate kinda loves it too!  😉

Walmart has the entire line of Garnier Whole Blends Hair Care – perfect hair products that repair, hydrate, smooth, and refresh your hair!
