Confidence in Your Summer Wardrobe
Oh summertime. As much as we love it, many of us struggle with getting dressed. We want to wear things that keep us cool but that means more skin is going to be showing. When more skin shows many of us struggle with confidence. We pick at every little issue on our bodies and are just waiting for fall when we can wear a few more layers.
We don’t have to succumb to our lack of confidence ladies! Regardless of your shape or size you are BEAUTIFUL and you should exude confidence! I invited some wonderful bloggers to join me in sharing how we maintain confidence during this trying time of year!
PS. How awesome is it that there are so many gorgeous, fashionable pregnant women in this roundup!?! #TisTheSeason

patterns and bright colors because they speak for themselves. Plus I have to be
comfortable now that I am chasing around a 15 month old son while pregnant with
my baby girl. So when I find a comfortable dress that does it all I basically
feel like a mom boss!

is to make sure I’m staying active. When I’m working out, I tend to feel more
confident in what I’m wearing, regardless of how I look! I also tend to find an
outfit or two that I really like and I wear that often.
Fallon from Southern Detour
mean we have to sacrifice modesty! My
favorite summer staples are a good pair of distressed denim shorts that are a
decent length + graphic tees! I keep my
summer wardrobe simple and southern with a boho flair. I feel more comfortable and have more
confidence in myself if the clothes I’m wearing are modest. Also, a side note, embrace your paleness
friends!
Havalah from Sisters, What!
internet of people making their own clothes and the clothes didn’t look
homemade. My past experience of sewing clothes was out of date patterns that
didn’t fit well and so I never wore them. But seeing people on the internet
come up with new patterns or making their own patterns, I thought “I could
do that!” So slowly I have been teaching myself how to make my own clothes
starting with knit shirts. The shirts are perfect for summer and have given me
a confidence boost in my summer wardrobe because I am wearing clothes that I love
and that make me feel comfortable and confident in my appearance.

difficult since you can’t just add another layer to add more interest to your
outfit. I’ve learned that I feel most comfortable and confident when I stick to
the basics. Dressing simply helps put me at ease and when I’m not worried about
what I’m wearing I can enjoy myself a whole lot more!
Rachel from Rachel Lynn
when the rest of my body is trying to beat the heat. The scuba neck line is
super flattering and the kimono wrapped around my waist hides any imperfection,
while still staying cool. These colors are perfect for the summer as well. The
white highlights any tan you may have, while the pink is light and dainty. This
is definitely an outfit to have on repeat this summer!
Pat from Pat and Candy
the summer! I have a pair or two of denim capris and a pair of (slimming!)
black pants, and then rotate through 5
or 6 loose-fitting tops with camis in complementary colors. Rotating items
helps me keep my outfits fresh and easy all summer long. A simple wardrobe
allows me to get dressed quickly and feel confident whether I’m running errands
or meeting a friend for an impromptu coffee date!
Jennifer from My Mama Project
summer long, but find that the weather in the PNW can be a bit difficult to
predict. This kimono is the perfect
solution as it is light and airy for hot days and an extra layer for the cooler
ones. The pop of color and fun print
gives me a boost of confidence as a new mama because it makes me feel dressed
up when really I just threw on shorts and tank top and didn’t have too spend
much time getting ready!
Britt from My Little Sunshines
for me to feel confident in! But by learning my style, my body type, and my
style preferences, I’m currently cultivating a summer wardrobe I feel confident
in. Wearing looser, but still fitted tees is one way I’ve been doing this!
Summer doesn’t have to mean tank tops, tight shirts, and belly button bearing,
neither does it have to mean frumpy over-sized shirts. There are a lot of great
summer clothes out there, so embrace them!
Molly from Molly on the Move
find me in swing dresses or shorts and tees majority of the time! As I’m always
on the move, I love rockin’ shorts because they give me a little more freedom
to bounce around. Style is all about feeling comfortable and confident in what
we choose to wear, so I make sure to only pick clothes that make me feel like
doing a little happy dance. My tip is to pick your favorite feature you want to
highlight and find pieces to flatter that!
Valerie from Maple Leopard
Fringe is my go to add pizazz to a summer look, and it can easily add a 70’s
vibe to any statement piece. I love leather as well, so versatile for any time
of year. A straight cut skirt in a
lightweight leather, helps me feel confident and chic for summer.
Justine from Little Dove
#momstyle because I’ve noticed when I’m feeling good about what I’m wearing my
whole attitude changes! In the summer time I love wearing skirts to help keep
me cool, comfortable, and feeling confident! I have found that it is just as
easy to put on a skirt and a t-shirt as it would have been to pair that same
t-shirt with a pair of jeans.
Ashley from Have Ashley, Will Travel
comfortable. If I don’t feel comfortable in what I’m wearing (fidgeting with
things, second guessing), I know I won’t be confident. I think there are many
ways to be comfortable and still fashion forward. For the summer I love
dresses, skirts, cotton t-shirts, and good old jean shorts! Pulling it all
together with a cute pair of sandals is my favorite way to accessorize. If
casual makes you confident, you’ll be ready to take on the world (or at least
start with summer)!

staples. I am always paranoid about my
pale legs at the start of summer but with the help of some body bronzer and
summer hikes in Big Sur I forget all about it.
I started blogging 5 years ago but was too shy to do #ootd pics. I thought I my body wasn’t the right
shape. A friend encouraged me to just go
for it and I am so glad she did. It has helped me stick to a more active
lifestyle and I found most people to be friendly and encouraging. I say embrace your style no matter the shape!
Ashley from Happy. Pretty. Sweet
makes me want to experiment with new looks and try trends I’ve overlooked.
Mixed prints is a trend I normally avoid, but summer is the perfect time for
mixing prints, especially when you have floral pieces just begging to be worn.
Greta from Greta Hollar
and putting on sunscreen! These two things are so important whether you’re on
the lake or out running errands. It’s hard to be confident if you’re sunburned
and have peeling, dry skin! If you have protected skin that’s hydrated and
moisturized, you’ll feel confident in anything you wear this summer, whether a
swimsuit or a sundress!
Angie from Chasing my Halo
introduced into my wardrobe that season. This summer it’s the off the shoulder
trend. It’s perfect because you have extra skin showing (which helps with the
warmer temperatures) but you also can wear the style with capris or in dress
form if you’re not quite ready to rock the shorts yet!
Becky from By BMG
pattern mixing and adding some statement pieces. I’m working to love the body
I’m in, not the body I wish I had.
Tif from Bright on a Budget
that are comfortable and fun. I like
items that fit just right, which means sometimes sizing up or down from my
normal size, but I feel more confident then.
It’s no fun when you have to pull and tug at something. Bright colors
and awesome accessories also give me added confidence I need on days when I
need that extra boost.
Nikki from Babbling Beauty Blog
feel that I stand out amongst the crowd. Confidence is my key every time I wear
my outfit, doesn’t matter what shade/color it is.
Bri from All that’s Glittered
at the pool or the beach! I need to have effortless, fun pieces to thrown on at
a moment’s notice! Wearing pieces I love makes me feel confident in my own skin
when I’m showing a little more skin while taking a dip in the water! Kimonos
and cut-off are a favorite of mine for this season!
Catherine from A Short Blonde
last thing I want to do on a hot summer day is fidget with my clothes! Simple
doesn’t have to mean boring though. Personalizing with fun accessories such as
sunglasses and hats allows for my individual style to show through.
summertime. I feel feminine, put
together, and more comfortable than when I’m wearing shorts. I find a few dresses I love and wear them all
summer long!
