Father’s Day in Seattle
It’s a well known fact that Caleb can’t handle celebrating Mother’s or Father’s day on a Sunday. Sundays are rough for our little man since his first nap gets pushed back an hour. This boy thrives on his schedule and life of a church kid means that schedule goes kapoot when we have to be at the church at a certain time. This holiday we wised up and realized that it’s not the day that matters. We didn’t need to do anything on Sunday! Instead, we decided that since Nate doesn’t work Mondays we would take off for the day and be tourists in Seattle.
We had no plans for what we wanted to do when we got there and it was so much fun just going with the flow and spending time with my two men. I used to stress out so much over planning adventures like this. I wanted to know just what we’d be doing every moment of the day. Thankfully Nate has broken me of that and I now love adventuring with no plans on the radar. In the end it was a perfect day! We hit up Pike’s Place Market, got Chipotle, walked to the Space Needle while Caleb napped, grabbed a cup of coffee, explored the Aquarium (which Caleb LOVED!), and had dinner at Ivars.
This time Caleb totally behaved himself the whole day! Nate says it’s because he loves his daddy more than his mama… Sometimes I think that might be true…
When all was said and done I wouldn’t have changed the day for anything and loved getting to spoil my husband with a day that he wanted! He is a fantastic father and this day was the perfect celebration of that!
