Seven Layer Chip Dip for the Big Game
This post is sponsored by Lindsay, but my love for their bite-sized fun is entirely my own.
Every year as football season drags by I’m reminded about how thankful I am that I’m married to a man who is not obsessed with sports. As my friends’ husbands are glued to the TV every Monday night, I’m able to get quality time with my man. That being said, there are a few games throughout the season that both Nate and I enjoy watching. (Ok, honestly, he watches and I chat with my girlfriends)
Most games we watch are Seahawks games because, obviously, we live so close to Seattle that we HAVE to be 12th men (is that even how you say it Seahawks fans?) We’re hoping they go all the way this year. (Is that even a possibility at this point? Nate and I actually don’t know… Goes to show how much attention we pay to football)
The best part of football to me is the food! Get a bunch of people together to watch sports and you’re bound to have a spread that looks and tastes fantastic. Since I’m not totally into the game, hanging out by the food is my activity of choice. Gotta make sure there are good munchies available!
One of my favorite treats to bring lately has been a seven layer chip dip full of all sorts of yummy goodness! No football party is complete without it!
Seven Layer Dip
1 Pound Ground Turkey
1 Package Taco Seasoning
1.5 Cups Plain Greek Yogurt
1.5 Cups Salsa
1 Can Refried Beans
1/2 Cup Milk
3 Avocados, Mashed
1 Cup Grated Cheese
1 Can Lindsay Olives, Chopped
Bag of Tortilla Chips
1. Brown ground turkey with taco seasoning. Place as bottom layer of dip
2. Layer yogurt and salsa as layers two and three of dip
3. Combine refried beans and milk. Add as layer four of dip
4. Layer avocados, grated, cheese, and olives as layers five, six, and seven of dip
5. Dip your chips and enjoy!
Speaking of olives… Make sure that if you have a toddler you save some for finger food! If your little one is anything like Caleb, the olives go quickly! I swear no one taught him to put olives on his fingers, it’s just innate I guess. Don’t worry about having to get multiple jars of olives, this site will guide you to a coupon for $1 off Lindsay Olives. Or use code GAMEDAY here for 25% off your Lindsay Olives purchase! Your toddler… or, if we’re being real, YOU… can munch on some and you’ll still have more left for the dip.
How do you feel about football?
