Summer wedding season is upon us! I went to a Bible college and people always joke that Bible colleges should be called bridal colleges. And the joke is a little too true since many of us do meet our future spouses during college. I’ve been to my fair share of weddings of friends who’s relationships I witnessed start, blossom, and grow. Since most of us are now done getting married and well on our way to having kids, I’ve been going to fewer weddings the past few years.
This summer the only wedding on my docket is one of my younger brothers’s. It’s TODAY in Spokane, Washington and it’s supposed to be 101 degrees! Of course it’s an outdoor wedding so we’re going to be sweating up a storm. Please pray for us all! 😉
There are lots of things to do to manage staying fresh during a summer wedding and I’m following each and every one of these tips tonight!
Regardless of what you’re wearing, you will sweat! Make sure you’re wearing clothes that will minimize the sweating as much as possible! Cotton is my favorite and I try to make sure I have a few cotton dresses in my closet every summer!
Keep Your Hair Up
As much as wearing your hair down can be cute, wearing it up is so much cooler! You don’t have to just do a pony tail either – find a fun braid or bun that can be your go-to wedding look.
Ditch the Heels
Yes, heels make your calves look great but they also can be frustrating to wear. Save yourself the stress and pick out a pair of pretty strappy sandals. Your feet will thank you and they’ll be a lot less sweaty!
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! As you sweat you’re going to want to fill your body back up with fluid. Don’t skimp on the water – especially if there’s alcohol at the reception!
Use the Right Products
Deodorant, body wash, wet wipes, and setting powder are all good to have in your arsenal to keep from sweating up a storm during the wedding! Find the products that work best for you and keep them in an emergency kit in your car!
