Raise your hand if you’re a young mom. Raise your hand if you have zero idea what to ask for this Christmas. Honestly, I tend to get so wrapped up in what I’m getting other people that I don’t focus on what I’d like. I’m too exhausted at the end of the day to think about the things that I would love for a little pampering and love. I’m too practical to ask for things I want rather than things I need. The list of reasons go on and on. Maybe you’re in my situation and don’t know what to ask for or maybe you’re wanting to buy a gift for a loved one – either way, I’ve got a great list of Christmas gift ideas for the young mom in your life!
Christmas Gift Ideas for Young Moms
Diffuser Necklace
I adore essential oils and love to keep the scent with me at all times. Peace and Calming is great when I’m getting stressed out, Lavender or Cedarwood is great for relaxation, Citrus Fresh is great for when you need some energy (what young mom couldn’t use any of those!)! A really cute lava stone diffuser necklace is fashionable AND keeps the wonderfully beneficial essential oil properties with you at all times!
Throw Blanket
I tend to find myself wrapping up in a large toddler blanket far too often. A cute throw blanket that fits in with your room decor and is calming and comfortable is the perfect addition to a Christmas list.
Silhouette Machine
This one is actually what I got for my birthday so I’m including it because you’d probably like one too. 😉 Maybe a sewing machine or drill is more up your alley for a creative outlet but, regardless of what it is, even if it’s frivolous, add it to your list!
Parenting Book
There are so many great parenting books out there that a young mom could totally benefit from. Some of my favorites are Parenting by Paul Tripp, Parenting with Love and Logic by Foster Cline and Jim Fay, and Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Ted Tripp. A few of the books I’ve heard great things about and am wanting to read are The Gospel Centered Mom by Brooke McGlothlin and Missional Motherhood by Gloria Furman.
Silly T-Shirt
I love my silly mom t-shirts and you should too! Currently I have one that says “Mama Bear” and one that says “Mommin’ Ain’t Easy.” I’m thinking I definitely need one that says “Chaos Coordinator” and maybe this one, this one, or this one.
Water Boiler
I adore my coffee but I also LOVE tea to calm me down in the evening. I used to have a tea kettle but once I learned about electric tea kettles my life was forever changed! I have a normal stainless steel one but I’d LOVE a cute ceramic one like this one.
Beeswax Candles
I love candles but, as I’ve been learning more about toxic free living, I’ve learned how harmful it is for you to breathe candles into your body! Candle smoke could actually be as toxic as cigarette smoke and I’m not ok with that! I’ve been diffusing oils for the scents but I still love the ambiance a candle brings. Thankfully, beeswax candles actually emit negative ions into the air which cleanses it!!! Win-win!
Planner
I used to have a memory like a steel trap! I would know every morning exactly what I had to do that day without writing it down. Unfortunately, two kids were added to the mix and now my mama brain is like mush. There’s something wonderful about being able to physically write down all the things I have going on in my life. Added bonus – paper planners can be so cute! I love this one and this one
Birthstone Jewelry
What’s more special to a mama than her kids? A gift that celebrates her mama-hood is always appreciated. I have a necklace with my boys’ initials on it but I love birthstone jewelry too!
Travel Mug
I said above that I like tea in the evening but my heart still belongs to coffee. A cute travel mug is awesome because one – you can take coffee with you and you don’t have to buy it and two – at coffee shops they can make the coffee in your mug and SAVE THE PLANET! Woohoo! Oh, and also, they’re really cute. I like this one, this one, this one, and this one.
