“Why is it called monkey bread if it doesn’t have bananas in it?  I think banana bread should be called monkey bread instead, mama.  How would monkeys eat this bread?”

I recently found out how simple it is to make monkey bread and was so excited to invite my boys to help me make this tasty treat.  Why was I surprised when Caleb couldn’t wrap his head around the idea that something called “monkey bread” didn’t have bananas in it?  My five year old gives me a run for my money, friends!

Once I finally convinced my little dude that this tasty dessert that has nothing to do with bananas can be called monkey bread we were able to get to work putting it together.  He and Josiah were so excited to get to join me in the kitchen and loved that they got to help me make breakfast for daddy.

If you have littles who enjoy helping in the kitchen, this recipe is one you absolutely need to make with them.  Once you cut up the biscuits, you can allow them to roll the dough in cinnamon and sugar and stick the tasty morsels in the bundt pan.  You can pour on the topping, toss it in the oven, and patiently wait for this simple monkey bread recipe to bake.  There’s not much of a mess and your children will be so proud that they got to help make a whole dish!  I call that winning!

Let me warn you, though, monkey bread doesn’t last long!  It’s easy to make but it’s even easier to eat!
