How to Make Puffy Paint
The perfect tutorial for how to make puffy paint. This pumpkin craft is a perfect Halloween activity but the puffy paint tutorial can be used for whatever design you want to make!
While I’ve been figuring out our homeschool routine for the past month, I have completely slacked on my usual holiday crafting I do with my boys. Halloween is only a few days away so I’m getting on it and creating some fun holiday puffy paint art. Of course, this puffy paint can be used any season and is perfect for kids of all ages! This is a fantastic project to use in a classroom, with your kids, or even for a lady’s night!
I try my hardest to come up with simple crafts for my boys and I to do because too much can just be too much. I don’t want to go running to the store for 100 supplies, I hate the idea of having to try to explain a difficult and technical way of creating art, and I definitely am NOT talented in the art department. This project fits the bill of being easy and simple. Three ingredients and a paintbrush are all you need to make some fun puff paint artwork.
How to Make Puffy Paint
Supplies Needed
- Foaming Shaving Cream
- White Liquid Glue
- Food Coloring
Instructions
- Spray approximately 1 cup of shaving cream into a bowl and gently fold in 1/2 cup of liquid glue. (Or use a 2 to 1 ratio depending on if you want more or less puffy paint of each color) You want to keep as much air in the shaving cream as you can!
- Drop in as many drops of food coloring as gets you the right color consistency you like. I put in about 10 drops. The colors will darken as the puff paint dries.
- Make as many bowls of this combination as you need for seperate colors.
- Paint your design on paper. Use lots of puffy paint so the design is very puffy!
My favorite part about this craft is the way it dries! I love the puffy and foamy design left on the paper. Not only do I like it, I’m sure your kids will like it too!
